According to the CDC, it is recommended to undergo STD testing annually. However, gay men should get tested every 3 to 6 months.

To ensure accurate results, it is recommended to get tested twice after unprotected sex, as the time it takes for STDs to become detectable varies.

  • The first test should be done 2 weeks after sex, including an HIV RNA Early Detection test for prompt treatment and reassurance.
  • The second test should be done 2-3 months later, with a Full STD Panel to catch anything that may not have shown up on the early test due to a longer incubation period.

If you have negative results but are still experiencing symptoms, it is important to consult a doctor immediately.
